Using occupational psychology to improve safety

Our applied psychologists are experienced in the following areas of occupational psychology:

  • Selection of safety critical staff, including development of competency frameworks, psychometric testing and competency based interviewing, design and validation of assessment tools and selection processes.
  • British Psychological Society Level A and Level B qualified consultants, allowing for assessment of individuals using ability tests from a wide range of publishers, and personality assessments including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Cattell’s 16PF, as well as on-line assessments.
  • Design of job-related and educational training to take account of adult and occupational learning principles; evaluation of training programmes; competence assurance, refresher training and skill fade.
  • Organisational safety, including safety climate and culture assessment and development, and safety leadership training for managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Questionnaire design, administration and analysis for rolling and one-off employee attitude, opinion and behaviour surveys.
